Under general direction, this position is responsible for conducting quantitative consumer analyses to support marketing initiatives in the areas of prospecting for new customers and motivating existing customers to buy more. Conduct analyses in the areas of customer understanding, consumer segmentation and develop targeting models. Develop deep understanding of marketing related databases. Develop understanding of financial analysis for marketing programs. Assist with conducting segmentation and lifetime value analysis to better understand consumer profitability.
Assist with making the right offers to the right consumers using a design of experiments (DOE) framework. Assist with designing marketing experiments and analyses to learn which programs work. Conduct back-end analyses to understand profitability and to identify program drivers. Develop targeting services for our merchants based on primary data collected through surveys, internal (card) data, credit bureau data and demographic data from third parties. Help analyze survey data to better understand consumer needs. Analyze large transaction-level consumer databases.
Develop promotional effectiveness measurement tools based on the credit card data. Provide campaign analyses to determine statistical significance and financial impact. Assist with developing advanced econometric models utilizing techniques such as choice models, neural network models, CART, CHAID, etc. for prospecting. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events. Complete other related duties as assigned. Support the Company's Diversity programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Economics, Statistics or related field or equivalent experience
• MBA preferred
• Experience with IBM mainframes and handling large databases is preferred
• Minimum of three years' experience in data analysis techniques such as choice models, neural network models, CART, and CHAID
• Experience in marketing analysis survey data a plus
• Proficient in SAS
• Strong PC skills and relational database experience
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
