We've checked a number of domains flagged as orange or red by McAfee, and we found that McAfee tends to flag domains that change where they point to.
For instance, www.analytictalent.com
was redirecting to statjobs.blogspot.com in the past, then changed and pointed to one of our group on AB now. Same with www.analyticbrain.com
. Both domains are now orange-flagged on Site Advisor, despite the fact that they are totally safe. The orange-flagging impacts only the domains where the redirect changed. I think McAfee should hire some data mining experts to improve their "domain scoring" algorithms, as "redirect change" is a very poor rule for fraud detection.
Ironically, several of the most dangerous domains (those where you get a virus just by clicking on the URL) are green-flagged by McAfee.
