I work in the Grounds Department at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Facilities Services working on Special Projects. The UTEP Virtual Arboretum is the most public one and currently in beta. The tree inventory, backflow preventor (irrigation), and data management are the major project areas with GIS and data science as the major tools. I develop application with VBA for MSAccess and I am learning new data wrangling techniques in R. Next up is Python. I am an aspiring Chihuahuan Desert native plant specialist and has been associated with the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens at UTEP for 11 years.
I am a graduate student at UTEP in the Environmental Science Program, thesis pending.
