Director of Analytics - San Francisco, Ca

Primary Duties

  • Lead analytics team to develop attribution and forecasting models, ad-hoc analysis, test structures, recommendations and media mix analysis
  • Continually seek new and better ways to leverage data to optimize campaign results
  • Become an expert in all aspects of data models, data elements and data environments for analytical planning.
  • Produce ad hoc analysis as necessary to aid team in budget management, user demographics analysis, and other core marketing functions
  • Provide prioritization decision-making models, forecasting tools and other analysis  for the leadership team
  • Manage and grow the Marketing analytics team, providing training and prioritizing workload to improve productivity, efficiency and work satisfaction of the team
  • Testing new, emerging opportunities through rapid experimentation and development of best practices
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team and the product team to enhance analytical tools and metrics.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Track record as a leader in an analytical position
  • Outstanding problem solving, critical thinking  and quantitative skills
  • Understanding of design, development, implementation and management of marketing databases
  • Thorough understanding of customer segmentation & database marketing principles
  • Proven ability to run and lead large analytical programs/projects that they have initiated, involving key stakeholders
  • Ability to collect, correlate and analyze large amounts of data, and provide insightful analysis of that data
  • Ability to scale quickly and take on increasing scope and responsibility as job requirements grow
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy of data
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with quickly changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Expert knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access and SQL
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business or Engineering, Master preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role at a technology company, consulting, investment banking, or product management preferred
