SimaFore Partners With Rapid-I To Provide Cost-Effective Analytics Apps For SME’S

Online PR News – 01-May-2012 –SimaFore, an analytics consultant and app developer, based in Ann Arbor, MI announces their collaboration with Rapid-I, the Germany based provider of open source data mining technology.

With advanced analyses of business and operational data, firms may generate new insights to guide better strategy and decisions. However, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) generally face two key analytics challenges: lack of expertise and resources to use high end tools as used by larger corporations. With the cost-effective data mining solution from Rapid-I, SimaFore is better able to pursue its main goal of helping businesses, SMEs in particular, to perform analytics. To do this, SimaFore is combining traditional consulting and ‘crowdsourcing’to deliver packaged applications or ‘apps’ available on the ‘cloud’. As an authorised reseller for RapidMiner, SimaFore gives US businesses and institutions access to a particularly valuable analytics tool that is easy-to-use, and affordable.
"Our partnership with Rapid-I means we can address the SME sector much better," points out Dr. Bala Deshpande, president and founder of SimaFore. "Our core mission at SimaFore is to democratize business analytics. RapidMiner, as one of the world’s leading open source solutions for data mining, makes providing solutions via an "app store" style portal possible. We offer ready-made and custom tools and models for data analyses through this portal as a basis for skill development or directly for practical use."
Almost two thirds of manufacturing companies do not have access to affordable analytics solutions, although they generate enormous volumes of data. As one example, SimaFore offers this sector an application for cost modeling and forecasting that accounts for historical variability or uncertainty in input price. This means a supplier can more confidently adjust the prices of its products, since it can calculate the input factor costs with greater accuracy in advance.

"A partnership in the USA with a visionary company like SimaFore was a further logical step for developing our existing international network," explains Dr. Ingo Mierswa, CEO of Rapid-I. "With the focus on small and medium-sized businesses and through addressing industries like the manufacturing, the enterprise is touching upon topics which are also very important for us as a German company. So this partnership really is a perfect match!"
