Time interval in SAS Base - Please help urgently

I've two variables, one is time (hour, minute, second) format and the other is price. I'm interested in determing the max & min values at every 10 mins interval and compute the changes between these two values.I've the macros that does time interval already but i need to create another variable (changes) to see how prices has changed between highest and lowest numbers at every 10 mins.Finally, I need to add another condition to know if the price has reverved by half within 2 hours after…See More

"Do you know how to write a macro? Something along these lines: %macro bin; data a;set a;if missing(totprice) then vband= .;else if totprice<= 0 then vband= 0;%do i = 1 %to 20000;else if totprice<= %eval(&i. * 5000) then vband=…"

How to use 'do loops' for ranges in SAS?

Please may I kindly seek your input in solving a problem in SAS. I want this done asap, hope someone can response on time. Essentially, I want to group a variable in different ranges, with incremental value of 5000. So, the iteration, if done manually, will take about 20,000 entries and thus I am trying to adopt a clever way to automate this. I am sure either some do loops; array or iterative do- statement can do this. Here is an example: if 5000 <= totprice <= 10000 then vband=1;else if…See More

Career Transition in OR from public to private sector? What are my chances?

Hi all. I will really appreciate if you can offer me sincere advice & share your experiences. I had master degree in Operations Research and am lucky to get a job as OR Analyst within Central Government. I am keen to know what my career prospects are especially if I am interested in switching to the private sector later on in my career. Apparently, the skills are transferable, however employers are often keen about industry experience. So, I am really pleading for your expert' opinions on…See More
